Wario Land 4

Wario Land 4

Another one I knocked off the old backlog, the originally came of for the Game Boy Advance in the early 2000s. I think I've only played Wario Land 2, but this one is generally regarded as the best. Nintendo had a lot of these kind of one off, weird games where they tested out some ideas where it wouldn't make sense to put this into like, Mario I guess. Fantastic level design and really tight platforming. Each level makes you find four pieces of a key in order to fight a boss, and you sort of have to explore around levels to find them.

This game has a gimmick where like some enemies will turn you into a bat or a snowball if they touch you, and you have to use that to solve some puzzles to get the key shards. It's a cute little game, very colorful, decent graphics. It's a game best played in short little chunks of time since the levels are so short there's not much story to it.

Good shit.
